The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Julian Maes can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence From: Marty Schneider
Condolence: For a decade, our group of hunters travelled to Hudson Bay for an annual moose hunt. Julian's vast knowledge and incredible memory led us "Prairie Dogs" to many successful hunts. Julian always put us in the right place to get a shot on the cutlines.
Our fondest memories are the stories Julian shared around the campfire at noon. We are grateful that we had Julian as our guide. He always invited the seven of us to their house for a delicious roast beef supper including Maida's famous parsnips.
Each fall, Julian came to Kyle to hunt geese. He was a good shot; usually, the number of shells equalled the number of birds on the ground.
Julian always treated us like family. We will miss him.
