Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Donald Holowatuik can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Donald Peter Holowatuik

Donald Peter Holowatuik was born on July 12, 1958 in Ituna Saskatchewan. He was the oldest of four children of Nick and Alice Holowatuik. He grew up on the family farm near Hubbard Saskatchewan and attended school in Hubbard for most of his school years, finishing off his last year in Ituna.

Don moved to Hudson Bay in 1977 to work at the plywood mill. He met the love of his life Susan Phillips soon after moving to Hudson Bay and they got married in Ituna in 1980. Welcoming their pride and joy and only child, Jeanine in 1986.

He worked an incredible 47 year career in the forestry industry, retiring from the Hudson Bay Weyerhaeuser mill in May of 2023.

Don loved to spend quality time with family and was always keeping busy with his own projects. He loved working on his vehicles, playing ball, driving demolition cars and riding around on his dune buggy or snowmobiles. He loved the outdoors and would go camping, hunting & fishing whenever he could. Don was a loving father and husband and together as a small family they enjoyed many memories together.

Predeceased by his loving wife Susan Holowatuik and his father Nick Holowatuik.

He leaves behind his mother, Alice Holowatuik, his only daughter Jeanine (Dustin), his brothers Jerry (Bonnie)& Eugene (Janet), and sister Theresa (Scott) and many close family members and in laws.

Those so wishing may make memorial donations in memory of Donald to the Hudson Bay Hope Foundation.
