Obituary for Betty Joanne Dunn

Betty Joanne Dunn
etty Joanne Dunn
November 10, 1953 ~ April 1st, 2023
It is with broken hearts that l the family announces the passing of Betty Joanne Dunn, late of Prince Albert, SK. on April 1st 2023, at the age of 69 years. Betty was born on November 10, 1953 in Moose Jaw SK, to Joseph and Megan Dunn.
Mom was raised on a farm outside of Porcupine Plain SK. This is where she found her love of animals, getting her hands dirty and playing with the boys. She was never scared to join in on the action and cause a little mischief. She followed her older brother Brian everywhere. As she grew she found her passion for baseball. Baseball took her all over the province. Some of her fondest memories are from the girls on her ball team and her dad being their coach. Once mom had her family, she moved to Prince Albert to start another chapter. She went back to school and received her certification to become a Special Care Aide. Her job made her true colors shine. Caring, compassionate, patient and loving are the qualities mom took with her to work everyday at the Herb Bassett home and later on Level 6 at the Victoria Hospital. Mom took life in stride, enjoying every minute. She loved with her whole heart and she made sure we all knew it. If you asked her, being a mother and grandmother were her greatest accomplishments and probably her garden. In the later years mom loved spending her time at the lake with family and friends, fishing, gardening, crocheting and going on adventures.
Listening to family and friends reminisce, I know we were all truly blessed to have mom in our lives. Nana, Mom, Best Friend, Sister, Laughter, Genuine and Love are all words used while we laughed, cried and chatted the days away.
Betty is lovingly remembered by her partner, Brian Best, her daughter, Elesha (Matt) Callaghan, her son Brian Sheremeta, Stepsons Brock (Sandi Horricks) Best, Braden(Brigit) Best. 7 grandchildren; Kace Callaghan, Blake Callaghan, Torsten Sheremeta, Airalyn Sheremeta, Brooklynn Best, Annika Horricks, Bria Horricks. Sister in law Nancy (Sylvie Barriere) Best. Her new found biological family in Edmonton. As well as all her very special sisters, nieces, nephews and her many lifelong friends who she considered family.
The family would like to send their sincere gratitude of thanks to the Victoria Hospital staff and doctors on level 5, for their kind and compassionate care for mom.
