Obituary for
Trent Larry Lybeck
It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Trent Larry Lybeck on February 1, 2023 at the age of 51. Trent was born February 20, 1971, in Prince George, BC to parents Larry and Shirley.
Trent graduated school in Porcupine Plain and he worked that summer with the department of highways. Later that fall he went to work in BC and stayed with his grandparents in Hixon. He came back to Saskatchewan a couple of years later bringing his big chainsaw. He would help his mom and stepdad cut birch firewood and this was also where he learned to weld and do machining from his step-dad Conrad.
Trent worked at various jobs. He worked at the ESSO bulk station with Marvyn Pickering in Porcupine Plain and later Newfield Seeds when the ESSO closed. He also worked in the artic circle diamond drilling, drove gravel truck for R & E Kun, was a mechanic at Wheelers, did cat work for Reg Back and an anhydrous truck driver for Viterra. He took great pride in his own small business, TNS Small Motor Repairs run out of his garage fixing sleds, lawn mowers, chainsaws, ATVs and anything else someone came by to have repaired. Trent later returned to Quesnel, BC working as a heavy-duty mechanic at Clauson logging truck company.
The last couple of years Trent came back to Saskatchewan and worked as a mechanic and also helped his brother-in-law John and sister Tracy on the family farm with seeding and harvest. Trent being mechanically inclined could not stop tinkering with things and soon he would be trying to get an old truck running that hadn’t been used for years.
Trent enjoyed hunting, fishing, sledding on his Arctic Cats and riding his motorcycles. Trent could always find the perfect camping spot or the most scenic place in the middle of nowhere. Shae said her dad knew every back road and would take her chicken hunting down them all. Trent also loved playing his dad’s guitar. Music was a big part of Trent’s life.
Trent was very proud of his daughter Shae and his granddaughter Jensen and loved them dearly.
He was predeceased by his Grandparents, dad Larry, stepson Dustin and nephew Colton.
He will forever be loved and missed by his daughter Shae (Branden), granddaughter Jensen, Mom Shirley and stepdad Conrad, sister Tracy (John), nephew Jordan (Joanne), stepsister Cindy and stepbrother Randy as well as his uncles, aunts, and many cousins and friends.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the many people for your kindness and sympathy during this time.
Donations in memory of Trent can be made to the Heart and Stroke foundation.
