She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Bernard, sister Lorraine, daughters Lynnette (Patrick), Laura (Berin), Diane (Wes), and son William. Grandchildren Jonathon (Kate), Freedom (Jon), Raven (Blake), Ocean (Tyler), and Wyatt. Great Grandchildren Teigan, Harper, Quinn, Dakota, Amiah. As well as numerous aunts, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Beverley was predeceased by her father William Vogt, mother Doreen (Pokeda) Johnson, brothers Larry, Raymond, Robert and sisters Diane and Velda.
Beverley was born September 9, 1957 in Williams Lake, BC. As a child they moved around a lot as her father was a truck driver.
Mom met dad in 1973. Welcomed their first child in “74. They moved to Esterhazy and welcomed 2 daughters in “77 and “78 and a son in “85. She welcomed her first grandchild at the young age of 32 yrs old, followed by 4 more grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was a natural mother, as if that’s what she was meant to be her whole life. She had a hand in raising the grandchildren. From giving advice, to telling us we need to discipline them, even though she let them get away with everything. She treated them every chance she got. Going for ice cream, buying a toy or even slipping them cash without grandpa knowing. Instead of getting older, mom became younger with each grandchild born. She always talked with them, hugged them, and played with them as if she was still a teenager. Even though she knew her body would hurt the next day, as long as they had a smile on their face and had fun.
Beverley loved cooking, trying new recipes, new foods, babying her barn cats and humming birds. She enjoyed coffee time with friends, playing bingo, playing Kanasta. Stix was her new game she loved playing when the kids were around. She liked it so much we all made a set so we would have it if she was around. Her favourite snacks were ice cream, popcorn (she couldn’t live without her popcorn) and her secret stash (not so secret) of chocolates. She sure knew how to garden. We used to bug her that she grew vegetables on steroids because her potatoes and carrots were massive. Even one time her corn stocks were almost as tall as the house.
Mom had the personality of an angel. She was a caregiver to all, including any of our friends. She gave everyone a chance even if you didn’t deserve it… and let me tell you, we were not deserving at times.
Mom loved music and dancing. She would out dance anyone. She never needed any alcohol to be the life of the party. She knew how to make people laugh. She would do something or say something so silly that we would laugh at her but you always end up laughing with her.
She was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be truly missed by everyone who knew her.
“At least I can say, I did my best while I was here”.
And that she did. Rest easy mom, we love you!
