Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Jennie Leason can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Jennie Leason (Aronetz)

Jennie Leason (Aronetz) was born on September 2, 1921 to parents Metro and Mary (Osatuik) Aronetz on a farm in Preeceville, SK. Jennie went to Sunny Brae School and completed her grade 8. Jennie married Wilfred Leason on September 22, 1940 and moved to a farm in Lady Lake, SK. From this union 6 boys and 2 girls were born: Ken, Gene, Marlene, Wilfred Jr., Allan, Debbie, Colin and Ben. The family moved to Hudson Bay in 1947, where they went into logging and farming. Jennie was a stay at home mom; gardening, cooking, quilting, and canning were a few of her hobbies while raising their family. She enjoyed bingo and her many friends who phoned and dropped in for coffee. Everyone was always welcome and never left their home hungry.
Jennie went into the hospital in September 2010, she spent on month in Porcupine Plain before returning to Hudson Bay Level 4 in December of 2010 to live until her passing.
Jennie was predeceased by her husband Wilfred; parents Metro and Mary Aronetz; 5 brothers; 5 sisters; grandchildren Kimberly Leason and Rae LaCharity. Jennie is survived by her children: Ken (Irene), Gene (Leona) Marlene (Norm), Wilfred Jr. (Dorothy), Allan (Cheryl), Debbie (Art), Colin (Faye) and Ben (Shannon); 21 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; sister Ann Malcolm; brothers Mike (Carol and Nick (Lynn), along with numerous relatives and friends.
