Barry Howard Olson - Gone But Not Forgotten
Barry Howard Olson was born on September 28, 1966 in Quesnel, British Columbia to parents Stanley and Iris Olson. The Olson family moved to Kamsack, Saskatchewan when Barry was young and then moved to Hudson Bay in 1981. Barry was just a teenager when two significant events happened in his life: his dad wanted him to come and work in the bush with him, so Barry quit school and went to work; second, Barry met the love of his life, Jo-Ann Lee Lasko. Barry moved to Kindersley and worked for a farmer and then moved to Edson, Alberta to work for Stonehouse Logging. It was there that Barry and Jo-Ann got engaged. On April 30th 1988, they were married in Hudson Bay and lived in a bush camp that first year of marriage. Barry and Jo-Ann then lived in Peers, Alberta and had two sons; Logan, (1991) and Morgan, (1996). They lived in Alberta for ten years before returning to Hudson Bay. Barry spent most of his working career in the bush until he had a life-changing accident in 2007. Since that time, Barry was a retired logger. Barry enjoyed camping, boating and fishing at McBride Lake, listening to music, 4X4ing, quadding, hunting, going to concerts with his sons, going to the Casino and visiting with relatives and friends.
Barry was predeceased by his Dad Stanley Olson, his Father-in-Law Mike Lasko, and his Mother -in-Law Vera Lasko.
Left to cherish his memory is the love of his life, Jo-Ann Olson, their two sons Logan and Morgan; his mother Iris, his twin sisters, Dawn (Craig) and Darcy (Harold) and his brother Bob (Susan); as well as, his in-laws Linda & David, Teresa & Darcy and his six nephews: Brady, Cody, Austin, Curtis, Darren, and Derrick and his nieces, Jordyn, Rachelle, Danielle, Jessica, and Michelle; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
