Condolence: I was very saddened to hear of Elsie’s passing. “ Miss Makuch” was my grade 1 teacher in Hudson Bay, and made a lifelong impression on me. She was, by far, my favourite teacher throughout my school years. After several decades had passed since those early days, I had heard that she was married, and visiting in Hudson Bay. I ran into her and Henry out for a walk, and being thrilled to see her again, told Henry that it was a good thing that he got her, because when I was in grade 1, I was convinced that I would marry her when I grew up! Throughout the remaining years, I would occasionally run into her and we would have a nice chat... always with her wonderful smile. She truly was a gift, not only to me, but I’m sure to many others. May God bless you all, and bring you His peace, comfort , and love.
