It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our father, William John Goy on March 21, 2020 at the age of 92. He is survived by his children, Donna Goy- Edwards (Richard Edwards), Barry (Edie) Goy, Colette (Robert) Nicholson, and Doug (Linda) Goy, his grandchildren: Trent (Shalaine) Goy, Stephanie (Clay) Parenteau, Chad Goy, Cary Goy, Ashley Goy, Melissa (Jeff) Christianson, Bobby (Theresa) Nicholson, Joel (Ashley) Goy, Katelyn Goy, Nathan Goy, Justin Primeau, and Shaeden Goy, his great grandchildren Anna and Isaac Goy, David, Gabriella and Daniel Swift-Goy, Kristi(Ty Nielsen), Abby, Hailey and Riley Parenteau, Jemma and Jordyn Christianson, Liam, Carter and Logan Nicholson, Davis Goy and his great- great grandson, Kason Parenteau.

He is also survived by his siblings, Olga Evancio (Bill), Alexis Cranna (Ed), and Walter Goy (Ann), his daughter-in-law, Pam Goy as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

William was predeceased by his spouse, Bertha (Michalko) Goy on October 12, 2014, his parents, William Peter Goy and Anna (Lyzitza) Goy, his son, Dale Goy, his grandson Chris Goy, his granddaughter Carmen Goy and his brothers, Mike Goy, Peter Goy, John Goy, and sister, Ann (Goy) Edwards.

Although William was born in Melfort, Saskatchewan, he spent his childhood and early years attending school and living in Yellow Creek, Saskatchewan. William married Bertha Michalko in 1951 and they moved to Prairie River in 1955 where they raised their five children, Donna, Barry, Dale, Colette and Doug on the farm in Prairie River. Dad and Mom farmed in the Prairie River Saskatchewan community for over 63 years being one of the first farmers to commence farming in the community. Dad always prided himself on being one of the first leased land holders in Prairie River farming community. As well, Dad worked in the winter for several years logging for Bill Kozak Logging, plus part time in the logging industry as a young man in Northern Ontario. In his younger days, dad also loved to curl, fish, go camping and did some hunting for moose and deer, as well he loved to play cards including cribbage.

A private Memorial Service will be held at a later date in the Chapel at Blair’s Funeral Home in Porcupine Plain, Saskatchewan.
