Obituary for Sigurd Lowell Smith

Sigurd Lowell Smith was born on May 23, 1945 at the Mina Bergh Hospital to parents Selmer John and Lena (Svennes) Smith. Sigurd grew up West of Chelan and received his education in Chelan.
On April 10, 1971, Sigurd married Myrna Bergh. Together the couple were blessed with four children: Debbie-Lori, Lowell, Paulette, and Sheldon.
Over the years Sigurd had many occupations: he drove bus, worked as an elevator operator, as a farmer, at the Porcupine and Tisdale De-Hy plants, haying for Neil Salmond and working at Nutrien.
Sigurd loved dancing, quadding, playing cards, fishing, and fixing machinery. Sigurd also enjoyed following the chuck wagon circuit.
Sigurd is predeceased by his parents Selmer and Lena; sisters Elita and Caroline; brother-in-law Paul Thompson.
Left to cherish Sigurd’s memory is his wife of 48 years Myrna Smith; children: Debbie-Lori (Garth) Stuart and their daughter Ashley, Lowell (Chris) Smith and their daughters Raylyn (Kyle) and Kylie, Paulette (Bryon) Patchin and their children: Brianna, Emily, Nicholas and Emmett, Sheldon (Kendra) Smith and their sons Logan and Tyson; sister Lavina Thompson; brothers-in-law Verden Yahnke, David Bergh and Jim (Vicki) Bergh; sister-in-law Eldora (Donald) Croswell; along with numerous relatives and friends.
