Obituary for Alice Georgina Lisitza

Alice was born at the Outpost Hospital, Porcupine Plain
Soldier Settlement on September 11, 1923. She was predeceased by her parents, Jack and Brenda Gibson, as well as by her siblings, Margaret (Tom) Burtch and Joseph (Lila)
Gibson.

She was also predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Walter Lisitza, in 2012. She is survived by their six children: James (Sylvia) Lisitza, Brenda Davie, Jackie (Keith) Denham, Lane (Bette) Lisitza, Wes (Lonnie) Lisitza, and Diane (Mark) Richards; as well as their twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Alice met Walter and were married at the age of 23. They lived about thirty years in the area of Porcupine Plain,
Saskatchewan, where Alice was a hardworking and dedicated wife and mother. She worked tirelessly on the farm with all its demands along with raising their six children. In 1976, they moved to Penticton, BC, for a more relaxing way of life. They lived there for over 30 years, and then with the increase of age and health concerns, they moved closer to family in Fort
Saskatchewan, AB. After Walter’s passing in 2012, Alice
remained in Fort Saskatchewan until moving to Sherwood Park in 2016.

Alice was a quiet, gentle woman who seldom spoke many words; she was content just being with people and listening to their conversations. Even though she didn’t speak much, she would convey her love through her patience and ability to
listen to others. She had a gentle but glorious smile to share with her family and friends.
