Obituary for William Lloyd "Bill" Foster

William Lloyd "Bill" Foster
Obituary of the late William Foster

It is with great sadness that the family of William Foster announce his sudden passing on
October 26, 2009, in Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan, at the age of 73 years.
William Lloyd Foster was born March 28, 1936 to Samuel & Beatrice Foster in Birch Hills SK.
Bill was the third oldest of eight children; 6 boys and 2 girls. Growing up on a farm meant
learning your chores at an early age and learning that hard work does pay off. Bill married Arlene
Danchuk in August of 1961, and there began the path of his life where he worked as a
maintenance worker in the grain elevator industry, then farming and later as a welder. To this
union was born five sons. Russell, David, Kevin, Terry & Kim, who knew that when Dad’s voice
said your name you had better be paying attention to what was being said…. and yes they all
pushed it to the limit on more than one occasion. As time passed one door closed and another
opened for Bill. In 1981,Nora Bacik became part of his life. He spent the last 28 wonderful years
with Nora and as the last 28 years brought two people together it also brought two families
together. Bill is survived by Nora, his mother Beatrice Foster, his brothers: Gerald (Avis) Foster
of Riviere Qui Barre, AB., Dale (Janice) Foster of Barrhead, AB., Keith (Leona) Foster of
Regina, SK., and Murray (Judy) Foster of Birch Hills, SK.; his sisters Helen (Gerald )
McLachlan of Prince Albert, SK. and Marilyn (Terry) Dubois of Radisson, SK.; his sons: Russell
(Cathy) Foster of Calgary AB., David (Jackie) Foster of Bowden, AB., Terry (Denise) Foster of
Langley, B.C., Kevin (Carol) Foster of Hudson Bay SK., and Kim (Laura) Foster of Olds, AB.
Bill’s memory will live on in the minds and memories of his grandchildren, great grandchildren
and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by his father, his infant brother, his
nephew and brother- in- law. From whisker burns to Grandpa Hugs we all have loving memories
of Bill that will always be a big part of our hearts and lives.
The funeral service was held on Friday, October 30, 2009, at 11:00 A.M., in the Hudson Bay
Legion Hall, Hudson Bay, Sk, with Pastor Fred Buhler officiating. Active casket-bearers were
Brett Foster, Joel Foster, Amie Foster, Sacha Foster, Desiree Maetche, Alicia Foster, Lindsey
LaBoucane, Violet Foster, Tyler Ratledge, Geoff Russell, Christopher Foster, Samantha Foster,
and Veronica Raiwet. Honorary bearers were mentioned as “All who shared in Bill’s life”.

service the St. Stephen’s UCW served lunch in the hall. Interment of the urn followed in the
