Obituary for Deanna Shirley Trottier (Darbyshire)

Deanna Shirley Trottier was born March 23rd, 1941 in Hudson Bay, SK, at the Red Cross Hospital, to parents John “Jack” Darbyshire and Anna LeBlue. Deanna was the youngest of 8 children, who grew up on the family farm together. They made many fond memories there.
Deanna left the family farm, and ventured out to Calgary, AB; where she worked as a waitress, at the Blue Plate Truck Stop for 2 years. Only to return home to Hudson Bay to care for her Mom and Dad; as when anyone needed her, she’d be nowhere else.
Deanna then started her most proud piece of her life; a family of her own. First came eldest son Maurice, born December 20th, 1959. Next son Rick, born November 2nd, 1962, soon after came daughter Dana, on July 31st, 1966. Followed by daughter Treena born March 7th, 1971, and finally came the baby boy Darren, born December 27th, 1979.
Deanna’s most well known qualities were her amazing care giving ways, and being an extremely determined, hardworking single mother, who loved nothing more than her family.
Deanna worked several jobs in Hudson Bay. Some of her most memorable being: a car hop at Hannigans, a barmaid at The Red Deer Hotel & The Desrochers Hotel, a janitor at the Rural Center for 20 years, and lastly a house keeper and desk clerk at the Treeline Motel where she spent 35 years enjoying the many customers and coworkers that became life long friends.
When Deanna wasn’t busy working, she enjoyed time spent: camping with her family and friends, embroidering, painting, reading, picking berries, playing yahtzee, enjoying a nice cold beer, playing with her children, and as time passed by spending anytime with her growing number of grandchildren. Some of Deanna’s fondest memories were playing and fighting with her siblings on the family farm, being a leader of Beavers and Cubs, her many pets specially Daisy and Charlie, enjoying the outdoors, the train trip with Dana, Jim, Johny, Randy and Treena. And most of all, holidays spent visiting all of her kids or even simple phone calls catching up with loved ones.
Deanna was predeceased by her parents Jack and Anna; sister Elsie; brother John; and sister Anna Mae. She is survived by siblings: Edgar, Victor, Roy, and Muriel; her 5 children; 10 grandchildren; and her 5 great grandchildren.
