Obituary for George Samuel Fittes

George Samuel Fittes
Born June 13, 1927 in Kelvington Saskatchewan
Born to Margaret and David Fittes in the High Tor district where they farmed.
George attended school till grade 8 at High Tor School until he was needed to help on the farm. During the war years, the older boys in the district had gone off to serve and his help was needed.
On August 15, 1953 George married the love of his life Frances Parada
They had 3 children Dale, Lyle and Boyd.
George started out as a mixed farmer then in the early 60s started working away from the farm as a carpenter. He worked on the new RCMP barracks in Porcupine Plain and then at the Parkland Coop in building construction. He became a journeyman carpenter over this time. In 1976 he joined the Saskatchewan Housing Corporation as a building Inspector Supervisor out of Melville Sk. This was followed by 2 moves to Regina and Prince Alberta where he was a Senior Inspector. George retired when he turned 65 and returned to Porcupine Plain. After retiring he took up the sport of golfing with Francis and they became hooked on it.
George helped many people around with different building projects including helping his sons build their homes.

George was predeceased by his parents David and Margaret, in laws Anna and Stanley Parada and Alex Bany his 7 brothers and sisters, Francis, Ruth, Andy, Stewart, Catherine (Sis), Clara and Jim. Brothers in law Albert Tower, William Salmond, Laverne Melland, Clayton Hoffus, brothers and sister-in-law Wanda and Peter Kostron, Joe Perog, Stan Mutch, Bernie and Rose Parada, Chester Parada, Charles Collins.
George is survived by his wife Frances, sons Dale wife Yvette (Bourgonje), their children Tyler and Jessica (Heit), their daughter Aria and son Toryn, Chad and Melissa (Hayward) their daughter Jayla, Jenna and their daughters Savanah and Aliyah; Lyle wife Karmen (Krietemeyer) their children Joseph and Lacey (Makofka), and their sons Arthur and Atticus, David and Alanna. Boyd wife Niomie (Wasylynuk), their children Emma Kate and Dakota (Crawfort), Abby Jane.
Survived by brothers and sister-in-laws Olive Fettis (Andy), Marilyn Fittes (Jim), Mattie Fettis (Stewart), Estelle Collins, Florence and Ronald Thomasgard. Plus many nephews and nieces.
