Obituary for
Robert Anton Grant
The Grant Family is deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather Bob Grant. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on 10 July 2022 at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon.
Bob was born on 21 October 1940 to parents Alex and Barbara Grant in Ste. Rose du lac Manitoba. Bob is the third of five children.
Bob spent his first eight years in Ste. Rose before his parents moved the family to Clemenceau SK where they owned the general store, and where their children including Bob went to school and worked.
During this time Bob met the love of his life Cheryl Herlen and they married on 27 September 1962.
Bob is survived by his wife Cheryl of 59 years, his four children and their spouses: Darrin, Carla (Greg), Troy (Sheri) and Kevin (Carleen). His five grandchildren and their spouses: Kimberly, Devin (Melissa), Kate (Anthony), Megan, and Madison. And his five great-grandsons: Alex, Connor, Theo, Jackson and Lucas. Bob is also survived by his two brothers: Todd and Terry (Irene) and his sister Shirley, sister in law Ellen Martindale (Lorne) and many nieces and nephews.
Bob is pre deceased by his parents Alex and Barbara as well as his eldest brother Ron.
Bob had many hobbies he enjoyed fishing, camping, quadding, horseback riding, wood working and let’s not forget the Hudson Bay rodeo.
Bob’s biggest passion in life was family he could be found cuddling the kids or playing with the grandkids and great grandkids, he also loved to watch old western movies.
Bob’s wings were ready even though our hearts were not; he will be with us throughout our lives, to guide us in a most quiet way and watch over us till we all meet again. As we say good bye for now, we thank you for your love, compassion, and showing us all just how much family means.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Todd Grant, Terry Grant, Darrin Grant, Troy Grant, Kevin Grant, and Greg Sidorchuk, Devin Sidorchuk and Madison Grant will carry the urn of Bob’s spirit.
Memorial service and celebration of Bob’s life will be held at the St. Stephen’s United Church, in Hudson Bay SK on Saturday July 16 2022, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Nancy Steinbachs officiating.
We would like to thank all the nurses, doctors, pilots and care staff both at Hudson Bay Hospital and Saskatoon University Hospital and Blairs Funeral Home for all their assistance, love and professional dedication to the health and welfare of Bob in this most difficult time.
