Obituary for Judy Mardel Merriman

Judy Mardel  Merriman
Judith Mardel Merriman, beloved wife of Leslie of Porcupine Plain, SK passed away on May 5, 2022 with family by her side, at the Porcupine Carragana Hospital.
Judy was born on October 8, 1943 at Yorkton, SK the second daughter of Alfred & Emma (nee Schmidt) Konkel. Judy received her grade 1-8 education at Sandy River School, Grade 9-12 at Theodore High School and continued on with a one-year secretarial course at Yorkton Collegiate Institute.
On September 29, 1962, Judy was united in marriage to Leslie Merriman and they were blessed with two children JoAnne and Shane. They resided in Theodore until June 1968, where Judy worked as a teller at the Theodore Credit Union. They moved to Porcupine Plain and have made it their home, here Judy worked at Jarvis Hardware and later at the Porcupine Plain Medical Clinic.
She was a faithful member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church and a very active member of the Porcupine Plain Health Care Auxiliary (50 years).
Judy enjoyed baking, gardening and taking care of her flowers. She cherished time spent with her family, especially her four Grandsons, that were the apple of her eye! Since her diagnosis in 2018, she felt very blessed to have been able to spend time with her three Great Grandchildren.
Judy had great compassion for people and touched many lives. She was a loving wife, mother, devoted Grandmother along with Great Grandmother and a good friend to many. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Judy was predeceased by her parents, Alfred and Emma; her stepfather, Ed Kohlert; an infant sister, Arlene; sister Ardith (Alger) Gruber. She leaves to mourn her passing and celebrate her life her husband Leslie, of 59 years; daughter, JoAnne (Brent) Serhan; Son, Shane (Lisa) Merriman; Grandsons, Michael (Kalene) & Colson; Justin (Kit) Paislee & Sylvie; Matthew; Cody; her brothers, Lorne (Sherry) Konkel; Gary Konkel as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
