Obituary for Myrtle Emily Kwiatkowski

Myrtle Emily Kwiatkowski
Myrtle Emily Kwiatkowski (Leepart) was born on February 20, 1942, to Nathan and Gwendolyn (Leech) Leepart. The youngest of 12 children, Myrtle grew up near Carragana and attended school at McQuarrie School.
Myrtle married Frank Kwiatkowski on July 29, 1958. Together they had 3 children, Carl (1959), Steve (1962), and Teresa (1963). They had a small mixed farm south of Porcupine Plain. Frank barbered in Porcupine and Myrtle was the designated cleaner of the barbershop. In the late 1980’s they opened their home to 2 boys from the Porcupine Opportunities Program, Darrell Prenevost and James Montegrand, which they looked after for approximately 10 years. Myrtle was kept busy cooking, cleaning, and transporting the boys to their appointments and social events.
Myrtle enjoyed gardening and tending to her many flowers and fruit trees on their property; always keeping the yard and their house in immaculate condition. Refurbishing antiques was also another hobby that Myrtle greatly enjoyed, her completed projects could be found throughout their home.
Many hours were spent baking, cooking, and sewing with the grandchildren at foot learning all these valuable skills that Myrtle (Grandma) so willingly taught them. Myrtle also enjoyed spending time outside with the grandchildren, immersed in many different projects and activities. Myrtle stayed on the farm till her health deteriorated.
