Obituary for Shirley Muriel Elliott (Wright)

Shirley Muriel Elliott (Wright)
Shirley was born at the Red Cross Outpost at Kelvington, Saskatchewan on June 7, 1927. She was the oldest of three children born in 39 months to James and Elizabeth Wright (nee Hope)
Shirley took most of her schooling in Kelvington and when graduated from KHS, went to work at CIBC. Mom worked in the newspaper business as well as the banking industry. A very community minded person, she was on numerous boards and committees to help grow her community.
Shirley spent a lot of years involved in the Provincial Side of the Legion. She was a Provincial president of the Ladies Legion Auxiliary, a District 5 rep for many years along with other positions. She was also very sports minded...she loved to curl, golf and bowl. She never got tired of watching all sports on TV especially when she could no longer participate. She was an avid Bridge player and enjoyed putting puzzles together too.
She and Milton travelled to Europe, Bermuda and many points in the states and Canada. She especially enjoyed the many winters she spent in Florida with Kelly and Ray.
Shirley married Byron Keebaugh in December 1952 and from this union three children were born. After her divorce, she moved back to Kelvington where she met and married Milton Elliott in June 1970.

Shirley was predeceased by husband Milton, her daughter Faith Keebaugh, her son Ken Keebaugh, son Barry Elliott, daughter Shirley Kemp, son-in-law Dale Petrie and brother James Wright.

Today we celebrate almost 95 years of a life well lived.

Left to mourn and celebrate her life are daughter, Kelly and Ray, children, Erin and Chad, Samantha and Bennett, Courtney and Brad, Luke and Megan, Dylan and Gavin, Scot and Elise and Jillian. Daughter in law, Laura, Kyle and Caitlin. Milton’s children, son-in-law David Kemp, Sherry and Davy and families, son Lyall and Pat, Kim and Kevin and families son Garth and Gloria, Dinalle and Jodie and families. Her sister, Frances Pearson and family. In all she leaves 20 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren
