Elizabeth Anne Gagnon, fondly known as Betty, was born on November 14, 1951 in Tisdale, SK to parents Ross and Alice (Campbell) Wilson. She was raised on a farm north of Weekes and attended school at Neely Lake and Weekes.

On January 9 ,1971 she married her highschool sweetheart, Barry Gagnon and they lived in Hudson Bay and then moved to a farm north of Weekes. They were blessed with four children: Darren, Allison, Crystal, and Pamela. Her children were her greatest joy. After being a homemaker for many years, Betty returned to Weekes School and received her high school diploma in 2000. She then worked as office administrator at the Weekes Town Office until 2018. Betty enjoyed life on the farm and all of her animals, especially the cows and goats. She always loved to sing, dance, and spend quality time with family. Betty’s big smile, warm laughter, and sweet demeanor will be dearly missed by all who knew her both as family or friend.

She will be fondly remembered by her husband of 50 years Barry, her children, mother Alice, her sister Barbara (Gene) Holinaty, brothers John (Kathy), Ron (Pauline), and Gordon, her sister-in-law Joanne (Greg) Sundquist, brothers-in-law Les (Paulette), Edward (Marion) and Danny (Linda), as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. Betty was predeceased by her father Ross.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Paul’s Hospital Spiritual Care or Porcupine Carragana Union Hospital.
