Obituary for
Cheryl Ann Holaday
Cheryl Ann Holaday (nee Melz) passed away peacefully on October 5, 2020 in Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan. Cheryl was born on December 14, 1954 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Humboldt, Saskatchewan to Alvin and Josephine (nee Kaiser) Melz. She was raised in and around Middle Lake Saskatchewan until she finished high school and moved to Humboldt. Later, she relocated to Watson where she met the love of her life, Gerard Holaday. They married July 27, 1974 and had their first child, David Arthur in 1975. Soon after moving to Naicam in 1978, they welcomed their second child, Carla Rae. Three years later their family was complete with the arrival of another daughter, Erynn Michelle. The family lived in Naicam until 1984, where they then moved to Wakaw. In 1986 they moved for the final time to Hudson Bay which Cheryl called home with Gerard until her passing.
Cheryl is very dearly missed by her husband Gerard, her children and grandchildren David (Karen), Holden, Zachary, and Kierstyn; Carla (Ray), Rae-Ann, Myles, and Blayr; and Erynn (Ben), Nolan, Rylan, and Logan; her father Alvin Melz, her sisters Norma (Ron) and Audrey (Wayne); all her Holaday in-laws, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins, and many special friends.
She is predeceased by her mother Josephine, her parents-in-law John and Regina (nee Durham) Holaday, sister-in-law Denise and brother-in-law Kent.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be a private funeral service held in Hudson Bay at a later date. Donations in Memory of Cheryl may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
