Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Murray Nelson can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Murray Nelson

Thomas Murray Nelson was born August 24, 1932 in Melfort, SK to parents George and Violet Nelson. Murray attended school and grew up in Melfort, SK, then moved to Carrot River, SK with his family before moving to Evelyn, BC, then finally Weekes, SK.
Murray married Betty Crittenden on July 25, 1957. Together the couple were blessed with three children: Terry Nelson, Tom Nelson and Ted Nelson.
Murray worked as a sawmill worker, he was also a heavy equipment operator, and a farmer over the years.
On December 26, 1992, Murray married Lorraine Lindberg (Holien). Together Murray and Lorraine resided in Hudson Bay, SK.
In his spare time Murray enjoyed fishing, dancing and rebuilding antique tractors.
Murray was predeceased by his father George Nelson; mother Violet Nelson; grandson Tyler Bradt; great grandson Ryder and Radek MacDougall and brother-in-law Dale Burrill. Left to cherish Murray’s memory is his wife Lorraine; children: Terry (Jackie), Tom, Ted (Tamara), Doris, Allen (Faye) Donna (Larry), Tracy (Dave), John, Gary (Cindy); Grandchildren: KR, Kendra, Emily-Anne, Brighetta, Alana, Darlin, Trevor, Tracy (Brent), Derek (Amanda), Breana, Travis, Kayla, Rebecca, Brittany; great-grandchildren: Kylie, Honner, Mason, Maddie, Mason; sisters Amy, Suzanne (John), Sheila, Sherry (Darby) and Shonna; along with numerous relatives and friends.
