Obituary for Eleanor "Lee" Armstorng (Stolearciuc)

 Eleanor (Lee) Armstrong was born on November 15, 1924 in Russell, Manitoba. She was the first child of eleven born to Elias and Mary Stolearciuc. After a few years living in Melfort, Saskatchewan, the family moved to Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan, where they homesteaded in 1929. She attended all of her schooling in Hudson Bay. She did a lot of outside activities with the animals (horses, cattle, etc.) In addition to the gardening and taking care of her younger siblings.
After graduating, Eleanor took nurses training in North Battleford. She married Leslie Martin Armstrong on January 12, 1950 in Regina, Saskatchewan, where she worked at the Grey Nuns Hospital. On January 16, 1951, a daughter Linda was born. She then worked two years at the Victoria Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Eleanor was always a caring and compassionate person, and upon returning to Regina, she continued her nursing at the Wascana Health Centre. She transferred to the Plains Health Centre when it opened in 1976, and remained there until her retirement in 1992. Sundays were special to her and she attended church regularly.
Eleanor also travelled twice with her mother Mary to Romania and also to Australia. In 1999, she moved to Hudson Bay where she resided until her passing.
Eleanor was predeceased by her father, Elias; mother, Mary; husband, Leslie; brothers, Richard, Raymond and Reginald.
Eleanor will always be remembered by her daughter Linda; sisters, Vicky, and Betty (George) and family; sister-in-law Lorraine and family; brothers, Roland (Jennifer) and family, Reynold (Sandra) and family, Richmond, Ronald, and Ross; and numerous relatives and friends.
