Obituary for Maria Sarah Quinn (Gagnon)

Maria Sarah Quinn (Gagnon)
It is with sadness that the family of Maria Sarah Quinn announce her passing on Wednesday,
March 3, 2010, at the age of 95 years.
Maria Sarah Quinn was born May 10, 1914 in Dunrea, MB., to Philippe and Virginia Gagnon.
In 1916, the family moved to Hudson Bay Junction. A few years later they moved to the
Veillardville area.
Maria Married Thomas Sprackman in 1937. They had four children: Faye, Dale, Rhea, and
Sheila. Maria worked hard along side her husband on their farm; raising children and cooking for
the crew that worked at their sawmill. She always had a big garden and did a lot of canning for
the long winter months. She took time to help neighbours and family when they were in need.
Maria was widowed after 38 years.
In 1976, Maria married George Quinn and they resided in Hudson Bay. She enjoyed gardening,
picking blueberries, and travelling with George to visit family. Maria was widowed again after
29 years. She continued to live in her home until January 2009, when she moved to an apartment
at Churchill Place. Marie enjoyed the residents and was always happy to see her family and
friends. She was a very special independent lady right up to the time of her passing.

She is survived by her daughter Rhea Densen (Ross Higgs), daughter-in-law Florence
Sprackman, son-in-law Leonard Thomas, brother Phillip Gagnon, eight grandchildren, several
great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
