Obituary for Bernice Victoria Montgomery

With her loving family by her side, Bernice passed away peacefully on Monday, December 23, 2019.
Bernice Victoria Montgomery was born on April 30, 1926 in Sturgis, Saskatchewan. She was the fourth of ten children born to Thomas and Dehlia Durham.
After graduating from school in Sturgis, she obtained her Registered Nurse Diploma at Regina Grey Nuns’ Hospital in 1948. She started nursing in Preeceville, Saskatchewan where she met the love of her life, Jack. They married in Sturgis on May 27, 1952. In 1960, Jack and Bernice moved to Hudson Bay where they raised their three children. Bernice retired in 1991 as the Matron of The Hudson Bay Union Hospital.
Bernice is survived by her loving children Carol (Leonard) Scheidl, Warren (Margaret) Montgomery, Michelle (Micheal) Kulyk, a very special cousin Loree Ann (Kent) Graham, seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, very special siblings Venita Alberts, Tom (Annette) Durham, Cecilia Vogelsang, brother-in-law Dan Rogowski, sister-in-law Judy Montgomery and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bernice is predeceased by her loving husband Jack, parents, sisters, brothers, brother-in-law’s and sister-in-law’s.
