Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Jacob "Jake" Dyck can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Jacob "Jake" Dyck

Jacob “Jake” Dyck was born February 2, 1934 to parents Peter and Elizabeth Dyck. Jake was born and raised in Garthland, Saskatchewan and attended the #297 Garthland School until Grade 8.
Jake married Vivian Smith on July 18, 1959. Together they had three children: Brent, Larry and Ronald.
While in Garthland, Saskatchewan he cut, loaded by hand and hauled wood to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. After Jake move to Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan in 1964 he logged. Jake was a member of the Hudson Bay Golf Club.
As a young man Jake enjoyed anything to do with horses, hockey and ball. In his later years, Jake enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and berry picking.
Jake was predeceased by his wife Vivian in 1984; father Peter; mother Elizabeth; father-in-law Leonard; mother-in-law Lillian; sisters: Betty (Roy), Mary (Henry), and Tina (Vern); brothers Peter (Alice) and Henry (Eileen); in-laws: Ross, Muriel (Allan) Smith and Karl Seemans.
Jake was survived by his sons: Brent (Janice), Larry (Karen) and Ron (Donna); grandchildren: Taylor (Katy), Bobby (Norah), Abby (Justin), Torrie (Raylene), Jessica, Garrett, Emma, Micheal, Katie (Treven), Sydney (Kale) and Hannah; great-grandchildren Kaiden, Levi, Wren, Lawson, Marlee and Bodhi; sister Sarah; in-laws Art (Peggy) Smith; numerous nieces, and nephews; long time companion Mary Ann Klingler and her children: Kim, Jody and Josh; grandchildren : Ashley, Jordyn, Taya, Ben and Aaliyah.
