Obituary for Ann Serhan

Ann Serhan ((Shoemaker) was born January 13, 1939 in Aljmas, Croatia to parents Elsie Dobrowski and Ivan Astalos. Ann grew up in Germany and immigrated to Canada where she attend the Blighty Elementary School, and the Prairie River High School.
Ann met Ernest Serhan and the couple married on July 4, 1960. Together they were blessed with three children: Jim Rob and Shelly.
Ann worked as a teacher at the Water Crest School and at Swampy Lake for a number of years. She also worked as a hairdresser while farming along side her husband Ernest from 1960-2002.
Ann was a member of the Canadian Cancer Society and the Porcupine—Carragana Hospital Auxiliary.
Ann enjoyed quadding, fishing, camping, playing cards, doing puzzles, gardening flowers, crocheting, cooking, baking, singing, playing the accordion and key board, Elvis, and playing with her grandchildren.
Ann was predeceased by her father Ivan Astolos; mother Elsie Dobrowski; and stepfather Joe Dobrowski. Left to cherish her memory is Ann’s husband of 58 years Ernest Serhan; children: Jim (Debbie) Serhan, Rob (Chris) Serhan, and Shelly (Todd) Pich; grandchildren Kyle (Caitlin) Serhan, Kara (Steve) Burger, and Brooklyn Pich; siblings: Bob (Illa) Dobrowski, Guy (Cathy) Dobrowski, and Sherry Dobrowski; along with many in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.
