Obituary for Joe Brezinski

On April 16, 1933 Joseph Brezinski was born to Walter and Mary Brezinski at High Tor.

Joe was the oldest of 4 children.
Joe attended school at High Tor.
Joe had many jobs throughout his years. He worked in potash mines at both Esterhazy and Colonsay. He built schools at Weekes, Hudson Bay and Wadena, Sk. For 6 years he did construction of elevators. He tried pipelining for Damister Pipelines. He also drove caterpillar and owned his own D6 cat. He went to work in Pinefalls, MB for 2 winters cutting spruce and poplar. He worked at a sawmill in 1972 with the Knudsen boys. But the farm was calling him home. He returned to his parents homestead south of Porcupine Plain, near good old High Tor, and farmed with his dad, Walter.
One day while in town he spotted a bright red truck which he liked and there happened to be a good-looking girl in it. Needless to say, he got the truck and the girl. Joe married Verna Chute on April 19, 1963. We were surprised he found the time since we all know how much Joe loved spring auction sales.

They lived on Joe’s parents home quarter for 10 years before they purchased land from Dubinsky’s and built their current home, which he lived at till his passing.

Joe and Verna were blessed with 3 children: Judy in 1965, Barry in 1967 and Lizabeth in 1971.
Joe and Verna both grain farmed and raised animals.
After losing their son in an accident in 1982, the girls learned to use all types of farming equipment. Everyone did their fair share around the farm.
He had a special place in his heart for each grandchild. Joe loved spending time with his family, whether it was going on a picnic or driving to go on a family holiday. He loved listening to old time dance music, or his Ukrainian music, talking to family and friend on the phone or at coffee row.

Joe loved to travel…Whether it was near or whether it was one of the trips they took to Florida, Las Vegas or Victoria, BC.

The family would like to say THANK YOU to all that has helped Dad/Joe over the years. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
Joe is survived by his wife, Verna of 56 years. Daughter Judy(Morris) and their kids Derrick, Casissa and Aaron, Daughter Liz(Kelly) and their kids Brittany and Bailey.
