Obituary for Donnie Michael Holowachuk

Donnie Michael “Fox” Holowachuk was born on October 12, 1961 in Porcupine Plain, Saskatchewan to parents Mike and Stella. He attended school in Porcupine Plain until he was 16 years old. He worked a variety of jobs until he decided to come home and work on the family farm. In his younger years he enjoyed curling, slow pith with the Riff Wrafs, fishing, hunting, shuffle board, shooting billards and was known to be quite a pool shark.
In the fall of 1985, he met Mary Desrosiers and became an instant father to her two sons Vincent and Ashley. Then in 1987 he became father to twins Tiffany and Michael.
In the fall of 1990, Donnie and Mary moved to the family farm, when Mike and Stella moved into town. His remaining years on the farm he enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, checking crops, watching sports with his teams Toronto Blue Jays, Saskatchewan Roughriders, and Toronto Maple Leafs. Once he became a Gedo, his grandchildren were his pride and joy. He spent countless hours playing hockey with Kayden in the house and catching frogs. Always started the tractor or lawn mower up for Grayden and went on many walks down the country road with the boys. Gedo always was buying treats and giving them excessive amounts of change. His daily ritual consisted of driving into town, cruising the street and making sure he made his designated stops. He enjoyed drinking his pilsner and sitting in his truck ,listening to the radio. Donnie's’ motto was “If its not broke, don’t fix it, and when its broke call brother-in-law Jim.”
Donnie was predeceased by his father Mike; grandparents John and Mary Holowachuk; Paul and Nellie Romanyshn; uncle Steve Romanyshn. Donnie is survived by his loving wife Mary, their children: Vincent (Janelle) and their children Kaylee and Oaklynn, Ashley (Amy) and their children Emma and Paisley, Tiffany and her children Kayden and Grayden, Michael (Phyllis); mother Stella; Siblings Vickie (Jim) Bergh, Sherry (Chris) Kipling, and an abundance of relatives.
