Robert "Bob" Fettis
Robert “Bob” Alexander Fettis was born October 7, 1947 in Medicine Hat, AB to parents Olive and Andy Fettis. Bob was raised in Kamloops, BC until the age of seven, before the family moved to Porcupine Plain/Peewee Area, SK. After moving, Bob attended the Peewee District School and then finished his schooling in Porcupine Plain.
Bob started trucking in 1965, in Saskatchewan hauling lumber. In 1966, he started on the Alaska Highway from Fort St. John, BC. From 1970 until his passing, Bob was trucking across varies provinces he had 54 years with no trucking accidents. In 2012, Bob moved back to Porcupine Plain to help on the family farm with his brothers Doug and David. The family farm that was started in the early 1950's.
Bob was an active member of the Legion. He enjoyed working on the family farm, especially at harvest time. He liked gardening, feeding the birds, deer and other wildlife. Bob also enjoyed going for drives with Darcy all over Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia.
Bob was predeceased by his father Andy Fettis; brother Bradley Fettis; along with numerous aunts and uncles.
Left to cherish Bob’s memory is his fiancé Darcy Swider; mother Olive Fettis; son Robert (Sharon) Tower and their family; brothers: David (Iris) Fettis, Doug (Maryal) Fettis; Tim Fettis; sister Sandra (Rick) Carlson; along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, friends, and all those who have known Bob through his lifetime.
