Obituary for Barry George Rempel

Barry George Rempel was born January 3rd 1963 in Porcupine Plain at the Porcupine Carragana hospital. He took all of his schooling in Chelan and Porcupine. When he was 16 he decided school wasn’t for him and went to work in the oil patch in Lloydminster. He touched a lot of peoples lives during his life working on the rigs. Eventually he worked his way up to be a driller. In 1999 he decided he needed a change and get the rest of his education. He completed his GED in Hudson Bay , then went on to get his journeyman Boilmaker trade certificate in 2007 which he was so very proud of. He worked and pulled his camper in numerous places in Alberta working different job sites. He always found his way back home. For medical reasons Barry settled down in Porcupine Plain and bought a house. He did try to keep working for a few years on a few odd jobs in the tool crib till he was no longer able. Barry carried out his days spending time with his cat, going out to the farm, helping Mom, having dinner and going to Mikes. He loved to go fishing with Bruce and Robby, quadding and also some hunting. He enjoyed a game of crib with his friends. Loved the Oilers, and wouldn’t think of missing a game. Also loved the Saskatchewan roughriders and had to watch them faithfully. He enjoyed going to Saskatoon for a drive and visiting Brian. Barry loved all his family especially all his nieces and nephews and every Christmas he would go out and buy each of them a Christmas gift. He was very kind hearted and very generous and would do anything for anybody. He became very close to God and started to spend more time with his church friends. He always looked forward to them Sunday dinners and visits with them.
Barry was predeceased by his dad George Lakinger, and his grandparents George and Mable Hood.
He will always be remembered and sadly missed by his Mom (Helen), his brothers and sisters, Brian, Bonnie (Pat), Brenda (Bruce), Bev (Marvyn) Kyle (Darla), his aunts, uncles, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends especially Mike and Little Bear.
