Obituary for Linda Leslie Kulyk

Linda Leslie Kulyk
Linda was born on November 6, 1964 in Hudson Bay, SK to parents Bill and Josephine Kulyk.
She was the fourth born child and had several older siblings to get her into trouble particularly her brother. She was a curious and clever child.
Linda started Blake Beattie School at school age and attended a special needs class up to age 21. A graduation celebration was held to recognize Linda’s achievements.
After Linda completed school she worked at a few different casual jobs in Hudson Bay. She loved farm life and was a key contributor to the day-to-day chores that had to be done. She worked really hard at whatever task she took on. She had a passionate love for gardening ensuring that everything was watered, weeded, trimmed and taken off the garden in the fall.
She enjoyed working with the animals on the farm especially her ‘kitties.’ She referred to them as her babies.
Linda was a strong advocate for the environment. She took recycling very seriously by washing, sorting and organizing the recyclables.
Linda was always in the know about what was happening on the farm. She knew where everything was when it was misplaced, she knew which crops were seeded and which ones were not and she really paid attention to the weather and shared it on an ongoing basis. She enjoyed riding along to the field to deliver meals and going for drives to check on the status of the crops.
If she felt certain things needed to be done on the farm that she was not capable of doing herself, she held everyone accountable until the job was done.
When Linda made up her mind about something she was always determined to follow through. Linda joined TOPS in 1991 and achieved her goal weight. She became an avid walker and continued with it right up until she wasn’t able to. The TOPS folks became a great circle of friends and support for Linda.
Linda had a very generous heart and couldn’t say no to various charities that called. She especially supported Saskabilities, STARS and the Salvation Army.
In the past year Linda travelled to Arizona with her family which she thoroughly enjoyed. This was a very special trip for Linda, she experienced many new things and had lots of adventures which she talked about for months after.
Linda had a very happy disposition and enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She will be deeply missed and we have been very blessed to have Linda in our lives for over 53 years. She will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Linda was predeceased by grandparents John & Eva Kulyk; Joe & Helen Krawczyk; father William Kulyk; brother-in-law Leon Drebit; aunts and uncles Casey & Anne Matiesh; Clayton & Sophie Thomas; Allen & Jenny Caughlin; Vonda Krawczyk; Mike Rodas and Ernie Kuyt; cousins Darcy Kulyk and Lisa Kulyk.
