Obituary for Bryan Geddes

Bryan Barrie Geddes was born in Tisdale, SK on August 31, 1948. Bryan attended school in Somme, SK, Lynn Lake, MB, and Porcupine Plain, SK. In the summer of 1956, Bryan’s family moved to Lynn Lake, MB. Bryan started is career in mining in 1966. He first started in the warehouse, he became a longhole driller and a trainer, then a certified Miner and trainer, and eventually a certified supervisor for production and development. Bryan completed various management training programs, and worked in the mining industry for 43 years. Bryan also purchased land from his grandfather near Somme, SK in the 1960's and remained an active farmer until his time of passing. Bryan was elected Vice-President of the Shand Creek Conservation and Development board from 1996 until his passing. He was an avid reader and knew his current affairs and history.
Bryan was predeceased by his father Stan in 2003. He is survived by his wife Darlene of 36 years, mother Dagny, siblings: Mervin, Jerry, Bob, Donna and David, and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Bryan was like a second father to nephew Derrick Greely and family friend Elgin Stegemann.
Bryan was a hard working, generous and kind hearted man. He will be missed dearly.
