Obituary for Judy Delaine Harris (Engen)

Judith (Judy) Delaine Harris was born on January 28, 1947 in Carrot River, SK, the only child of Roy and Emily Engen. Judy grew up in Carrot River and it was there she received her education.
Throughout her years, Judy lived in various communities across Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia. Her working career led to many jobs from retail, waitressing, and restaurant owner. But for the majority of Judy’s life she was a stay at home Mom. Judy had five children: Kimberly, Jason, Jillian, Tim and Geoff. Judy loved spending time with her family, they meant the world to her. Her eldest daughter Kimberley was raised by Judy’s parents. It brought much joy to Judy when Kimberley moved in with her at the age of 16.
Judy became a collector of Lighthouses, and was also known for her doodling, she also loved nature, being outdoors brought her great pleasure. Judy’s favourite past time was spending her day in the garden and greenhouse. Anyone who knew Judy would know that she had huge heart when it came to animals - especially cats and dogs, as well as a lover of birds and bugs, really she loved all living things. Judy loved to spend time walking her beloved fur babies. She always made sure her partner in gardening never killed a frog!
Judy wasn’t what one would call a social butterfly in the outside world as she always had anxiety and phobias of crowded places. But when it came to Facebook, well she was a Facebook Butterfly! She had and made many friends on her social network, she had a love of writing and it was clearly known through her posts. She would start off each day by posting a Good Morning to everyone, then continue on through the day with how her flowers were growing, to walking the dogs many times a day, to what kind of bird or bug she spotted that day. As her health began to worsen, people really noticed and started missing her posts that they had looked forward to each day.
Judy was predeceased by her mother Emily in 1987 and her father Roy in 2002.
She is lovingly remembered by her partner in gardening and pet care for 15 years Dave Crittenden; her children: Kim, Jason (Charlene), Jill (Todd), Tim (Melissa), and Geoff; stepsons: Kevin (Nadine), Sean (Andrea), and Mark (Amanda); grandchildren: Chris (Amanda), Matthew (Caity), Kalin, Taylor, Haley, Riley, Kolton, Charis, Jacey, Eryn, Jase, and Brielle; two great-granddaughters: Alyssa and Deidra; as well as many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and friends.
