Obituary for Mary Dudka (Tumak)

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Mary Dudka after a brief battle with lung cancer. Mary was born in the District of Buchanan, Sask. & spent most of her childhood on a farm near Hudson Bay, Sask. At the age of 17 Mary moved to Regina & later met Mike Dudka of whom she was married to for 29 years. They raised 3 children, Ed, Russell & Sharon. Mary worked for Sears in the shoe department at the Sears Warehouse on 4th Ave. for 23 years. She retired in 1989 and moved to LaFleche, Sask. where Mary and her long-time partner, Peter Okraincee lived for 26 years on a farm near Fir Mountain, Sask. They became sheep farmers & both worked very hard to provide for themselves, family & friends. Mary took great pride in her garden & her many flower pots filled with petunias. Mary was well known & loved for her perogies, cabbage rolls, canning & baking. She always thought of others before herself. Mary passed away with her family by her side on December 8, 2017 at the Regina Wascana Grace Hospice at the age of 78. Mary is predeceased by her parents, Steve & Rosie Tumak, sister Elsie Tumak & partner Peter Okraincee. Mary is lovingly remembered & cherished by her son Ed (Kathy) Tumack (Sherrie); son Russell Dudka (Lorelei); & daughter Sharon Dudka; grandchildren Jason (Crystal) Tumack & Jeremy (Charlene) Tumack & Katrina Dudka; great grandchildren Donovan , Alyssa, Beck & Zevin Tumack & great great grandson Jax Tumack. Mary is also survived by her brother Mike (Elaine) Tumak; brother Harry (Bernice) Tumack; sister Margaret (John) Matiasz & sister Sally Okraincee and husband Mike Dudka. The family would like to send special thanks to Mary's friends Ray & Danelle Morresette for being there when her family couldn't & helping her all these years. Donations may be made in memory to the Salvation Army.
