Arthur Owen Thorpe was born on December 15, 1947 in Porcupine Plain, SK to parents Arthur and Daisy (Johnson) Thorpe. Artie was raised in Porcupine Plain, where he also received his education.
On November 27, 1970, Artie married Claire Merrie Renneberg. To this union three children were born, sons: Elvis and Richard, and daughter Terena. Artie worked for the CNR as well as the Porcupine Opportunities Program in Porcupine Plain.
Artie loved the outdoors, and he especially liked plants and gardening. One of his favorite pastimes was watching boxing and wrestling on TV.
Artie was predeceased by son Richard in 1972, mom Daisy in 1981, dad Arthur in 2001, and father and mother-in-law Walter and Lina Renneberg.
He is survived by son Elvis (Fern), daughter Terena (Trevitt) Bourgonje, grandchildren: Taylor and Travis Thorpe, Zachary, Ashton, Shyla and Alexis Bourgonje, brothers: Harold, Delmer, Lloyd, Dwight and families, brother-in-law Albert Renneberg and family, and sister-in-law Marlene Norton and family.
