Obituary for
Vera Elizabeth "Beti" Davidson (Richards)
Vera Elizabeth (Beti) Richards was born on a farm in the Abermule District, south of Dinsmore, Sask. on December 13, 1927 to parents Edith and John (Jack) Richards.
She married Bruce Murray Davidson on July 23, 1952 in Erwood, Sask. Together; they had a daughter Enid and a son Murray.
Beti attended Abermule School and Pontiac School (rural schools south of Dinsmore) and completed High School in Dinsmore. She attended Normal School in Saskatoon. In October of 1947 after only six weeks of Normal School she started her first teaching position at Pleasant Corner School north of Carragana, Sask. She also taught at Smokey Ridge School, Erwood School and finished her teaching career at Blake Beattie School in Hudson Bay, Sask. in 1986.
Beti enjoyed volunteer activities in the community. She was a member of St. Stephen's United Church serving on many boards and committees. She was an active member of Hudson Bay Order of Royal Purple #273. Supporting her children, she participated in all clubs and sport organizations that were important to Enid and Murray.
Beti enjoyed children and was ever concerned about the well-being of each niece, nephew and community child. Friends and neighbours were ever so important in her world. She kept in touch with personal visits and by telephone.
Beti was predeceased by her parents Edith and John (Jack) Richards, siblings: Frank, Trevor John, Margaret Enid, Wilfred Stephen, sisters in law Florence Richards, Florence (Davidson) Lazar, husband Bruce Davidson, brothers in law Anton Lazar and George Davidson, niece's husband John Burhoff and nephew's wife Dena Yausie.
She is survived by daughter Enid, son Murray, sister in law Shirley Davidson, special friends Roseanne Kirkpatrick and husband Scott Edwards, nieces Gail (Gordon) Haugen, Fern Yausie, Evelene Burhoff, Marrian (Jim) Wilchynski, Dena (Ed) Johnson, nephews Alvin (Lynn) Lazar, Bruce (Donna) Lazar, Wayne (Merilee) Lazar, Dean (Debbie) Davidson, Don (Linda) Davidson as well as their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
