Bertha Sylvia (Michalko) Goy was born on June 6, 1931 in Alvena, Saskatchewan to parents Andrew and Maria Michalko. Bertha was raised in Alvena, Saskatchewan, where she attended the Reil - Dana School, and later moved to Yellow Creek, Saskatchewan. It was in Yellow Creek that Bertha met the love of her life William John Goy. They were united in marriage on June 24, 1951. To this union five children were born: Donna, Barry, Dale, Colette, and Douglas.
William and Bertha began their career in farming settling near Prairie River, Saskatchewan. Bertha became an active member of the Prairie River United Church and the Prairie River United Church Choir. She enjoyed spending countless hours gardening, knitting, crocheting, cooking, and loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren.
Bertha was predeceased by her father Andrew John Michalko, mother Maria (Dubyk) Michalko, grandson Chris Goy, granddaughter Carmen Goy, sister Suzie Chernawoski, and brothers-in-law: George Chernawoski, Walter Dubiel, and Joe King.
She is survived by her children: Donna Goy-Edwards (Richard Edwards), Barry (Edie) Goy, Dale (Pam) Goy, Colette (Robert) Nicholson, and Douglas (Linda) Goy, her grandchildren: Trent (Shalaine) Goy, Stephanie (Clay) Parenteau, Chad Goy, Cary Goy, Ashley Goy, Melissa (Jeff) Christianson, Bobby (Theresa) Nicholson, Joel (Ashley) Goy, Katelyn Goy, Nathan Goy, Justin Primeau, and Shaeden Goy, great-grandchildren: Anna and Issac Goy, David, Gabriella and Daniel Swift-Goy, Kristi, Abby, Hailey and Riley Parenteau, Jemma and Jordyn Christianson, and Liam Nicholson, sister Cecillia Michalko-Dubiel-King, and numerous relatives and friends.
