Obituary for Gordon John Rhinehart

Gordon John Rhinehart
Gordon John Rhinehart was born on December 31, 1949 to Walter and Verna Rhinehart in Maidstone, SK.
Gordon grew up in the Standard Hill District near Maidstone, SK. He received his education there as well. At the age of sixteen he left home to do brush work, shortly after he went to do road construction for Lux Brothers. He spent three years doing this.
On November 14, 1968 he married Linda Harris. A short time later in April of 1969, Linda was killed in a tragic tractor accident.
In 1970, Gordon met Veronica Grundner. On November 18, 1972, Gordon and Veronica were married. Together they moved to St. Walburg, SK, where he continued with road construction.
In 1973, Gordon started his long time career working for Sask Wheat Pool. Gordon started with them in Meadow Lake, SK, and then moved on with them to Hudson Bay, SK. Gordon spent 29 years with the Wheat Pool until it closed down. In 2002, Gordon started employment with Northstar Fertilizer. He loved his job and working along side with longtime co-worker and friend Fay Ogurek. Gordon enjoyed having his winters off. During these times he would be found hunting, fishing, and taking his yearly trips to visit his children and his grandchildren in Sault St. Marie, Ontario.
To their union, Gordon and Veronica were blessed with four daughters, their first Angela in 1975, then Corrina in 1977, Christina in 1978, and in 1979 Jennifer.
Gordon loved his family. Together they spent many years at Bakers Narrows in Manitoba. Many special memories were made there.
Gordon loved to take his girls fishing and hunting.
In 2001, Gordon’s first grandchild was born, the following years brought six more grandchildren, and the last one Gordon was blessed to meet three weeks before his passing.
Gordon’s passions were fishing, hunting and most of all his family! He was a great husband, father and grandfather.
Gordon was predeceased by his first wife Linda (1969), his father Walter (1989), mother Verna (2010), brother Brian (1955), father-in-law Wolfgang (1991), and mother-in-law Christina (1998).
Gordon is survived by his wife of 39 years Veronica, daughters: Angela Rhinehart (Ed) of Sault St. Marie, ONT, Corrina (Jody) Simms of Sault St. Marie, ONT, Christina (Travis) Johnson of Weekes, SK, and Jennifer Hartl of Hudson Bay, SK, grandchildren: Alyshia, Makenzie, Kayla, Connor, Kyle, Jayden, and Khloe, and numerous relatives and friends.
